Police, “concerned for the safety” of students at UC Davis, pepper spray them while they sit on the ground.

When these useless excuses for (human beings) public servants look back on these videos of themselves in 30 years, will they be proud of what they did?

I guess the police during the civil rights movement were concerned for the safety of African Americans, and were helping them. All these students did was set up tents, and make a circle around them sitting on the ground, in support of the students at UC Berkley.

Update:

After the conclusion of the video, it has been reported that police were hitting students with batons, then holding them down while pepper spraying them in the face, some students were held down, mouths forced open by police, and pepper sprayed down their throats.

Multiple people were hospitalized, vomiting blood, with potential permanent lung and throat damage.

Update:

http://anoncentral.tumblr.com/post/13023795840/d0x-uc-davis-pepper-spraying-officer-lt-john-pike

The officer in question who started pepper spraying has been identified as LT John Pike. His actions were against California Legal Statues, as he was not acting in self defence in his use of a weapon on sitting unarmed people. Please use attached information to file formal complaints, and request all criminal penalties associated with the assault of over 20 people be taken on this man, I count over 20 counts of assault, on video, with pepper spray, not used in self defence, which could carry separate fines and prison terms.

The government is subject to the same laws they impose on the citizens.

Where is the ACLU at the OWS protests?

The American Civil Liberties Union‘s (ACLU) stated mission is protection of constitutional rights of all citizens of the United States. The OWS protesters are being arrested, reporters are being arrested, reporters are being barred from covering the area, first amendment rights are being trampled upon, but the ACLU is nowhere to be seen.

Public parks are there for use by the public, the government cannot dictate how taxpayers can use the park as long as they are not breaking laws, and that does not mean that the government can make new laws as they see fit to intentionally circumvent the constitution of the United States of America.

New curfew laws, laws against protest, laws against gathering, and other attempts by municipal government and state governments are unconstitutional on their face. Not only should they not be followed, but when arrested the persons who are arrested should file civil lawsuit against the municipality for false arrest and imprisonment.

If lawsuits and challenges were swiftly pressed against the governments who are acting to enact a police state and oppress the protests, courts could be called upon to take action against the government itself. It has already been seen in multiple jurisdictions that judges are not nearly as corrupted by the monetary influences seen in the other branches of the government, and can be relied upon to make fair decisions in many cases.

It only takes one federal standing precedent to challenge the laws in all jurisdictions, and prevent much of the illegal attempts at oppression from being enacted.

The people writing and passing these laws know, or should know, that they violate the constitution, however, they also believe that the cost of challenging the laws will be so great that it will not matter.

We all have the right to freedom of speech and protest, granted to us by the first amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. No law passed on the local, state, or federal level can take away this right without first amending the constitution of the United States. It grants the explicit right to peacefully assemble on public grounds, and protest, and cannot be infringed or limited by any law passed on any other level.

The police who are caught on tape committing assaults against citizens should be sued. The municipal districts, cities and states who are attempting to circumvent the constitution should be held to account and the ACLU is the organization, who states it is their national goal.

Where is the ACLU? I’ve seen event after event after event that the ACLU could choose to make an example case, but they stand idly on the sideline doing nothing.  They protect the first amendment rights of reprehensible people at times, but in a case with a noble cause, they are nowhere to be found.

I’m unsure if the lack of concern for the rights of the people has to do with where their financial contributions come from, but it is difficult to not wonder if the ACLU does not take up the cause of protection of these protesters because they believe that it would reduce donations from groups related to the investment industry.

Contact your local ACLU, and the national chapter. Ask them why they are sitting idly by while the constitutional rights of citizens to protest and assemble are being violated.

This is a moment in history where the ACLU could do something great for this country, however, without pressure they’ll sit by, because their funding comes from those who the protests are against

They, like many others, will not bite the hand that feeds them, unless they believe that the cost of inaction outweighs the cost of action.

The national ACLU can be found at http://www.aclu.org, and many state chapters exist, search for your state and ACLU and you’ll likely find local chapters.

Let them know that it is noticed that they’re ignoring the entire violation of civil rights taking place.

Police assault a NY Supreme Court Judge at OWS

NYC police assault a NY Supreme Court Judge.

At what point did the police become allowed to violate the assault laws of the United States.

This is the exact reason we have a 2nd Amendment.

Police Pepper spray 84 year old woman, unarmed non resisting protestors in Seattle

Watch the start, all protesters standing still doing nothing, police attack unprovoked with batons and pepper spray.

Response to Police assault of student protestors at UC Berkley

They suggest they’ll grant amnesty to the 40 people who were arrested, however, no charges for assault with a deadly weapon being filed against the police who attacked protesters unprovoked.

Police attack protestors, unprovoked in NYC

Police grab and assault the protesters at the 1:30 mark. Man was standing, is grabbed and assaulted by police pushed into the crowd of protesters. He has done nothing at this point other than speak and stand.

Why are police not being arrested and tried for their crimes against these people who are doing nothing but exercising their constitutional right of free speech in a public place?

Police attack protestors, steal their propery, and destroy private property

Police attack the sleeping people in the park in NYC, steal all their belongings, and destroy them to attempt to break up protests.

Thousands of dollars in camera equipment and camping supplies destroyed by police.

Police bar press from NYC protest sites – Arrest reporters

Police being ordered by NYC officials to not enter protest areas, will not approve flight plans for helicopters of media crews, violation of first amendment rights.

The question is not if a police state is coming, we already have one.

Oakland Police – Jabbing people with batons isn’t violent?

Police who assaulted protesters explaining how hitting them with batons isn’t violence. I would imagine if protesters jabbed back with batons in this manner, it would absolutely not be considered a non violent form of protest.

Police “nudge” students with batons at Berkley

When later asked, these police stated they were “nudging” the students because it was unsafe for them to stand there.

The reason it was “unsafe” was because there were people planning to assault them.

You can see them clearly in the video, they’re the people wearing the badges, helmets, carrying the weapons.
